Our Defect Closeout Advisory service is designed to help clients—whether homeowners, builders, or developers—understand exactly what needs to be done to resolve identified defects and achieve project finalisation. Unlike a physical inspection, this service is a consultative process based on existing defect reports (either provided by us or another inspector).

We sit down with you to review the list of defects and provide practical, trade-informed advice on how to rectify each issue. You’ll receive a written advisory document detailing:

• The nature of each defect

• Recommended methods of rectification

• Suggested order of works

• Relevant Australian Standards or NCC references (where applicable)

• Clarification on which trades are responsible for each fix

• Whether the defect is cosmetic, structural, or compliance-related

This service ensures all parties involved are clear on their responsibilities and next steps, reducing delays and disputes. It’s especially useful prior to handover, practical completion, or when responding to a third-party inspection report.
